Summary:
Recent geopolitical tensions, climate change policies and technological developments have led to new or more vigilant regulation of supply chains and international in North America, Asia and Europe. In these markets, business must contend with prohibitions on the use of forced or child labour in supply chains, the emergence of so-called “green tariffs”, the incremental expansion of economic sanctions and competition for government incentives for energy transition projects. Many of these changes have been driven by the U.S. How will the outcome of the U.S. Presidential election affect these trends and what should Canadian and international businesses expect when the new administration takes office in January 2025? Join George Reid of Bennett Jones LLP for a discussion of the implications of the 2024 U.S. Presidential election on international trade and supply chain regulation.
